Hreflang Builder & Map Checker
Check a language-to-URL map and generate reciprocal HTML tags or XML sitemap entries.
These are generated tags for the map you provided. Remote pages have not been fetched or checked.
HTML head tags
Use the same alternate tags on every equivalent page, plus the self-canonical appropriate to that page.
XML sitemap
The exported sitemap repeats the complete language map for each distinct URL.
One language map. A complete set of tags.
Enter the canonical URL of each equivalent page and its language code, such as en or zh-Hans. The builder checks the supplied map for malformed URLs, repeated language codes and common inconsistencies, then generates a self-reference and reciprocal alternates for every version.
Use the output on the actual pages
Copy the alternate set into the head of each equivalent page. The canonical must point to that specific page, rather than making every language canonical to English. The XML export includes each distinct URL and the same set of language alternatives. x-default is an optional fallback and may share a URL with another version.
Check the published result
This is a map and syntax check, not a website crawler. It cannot verify HTTP status, redirects, the language of a page, remote canonicals, or whether tags were deployed. Use your webmaster tools and inspect the published HTML after applying the output. Codes are checked against the language-code list used by Google; a valid code does not prove the content is in that language.
